28009 Wesley Chapel Blvd Wesley Chapel, FL Mary Christine Lane 813-479-5223 Hotels Weather Map/Direction | 11-Oct-2008 (Saturday) Edit/Update this event Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3 Day Bike Wash Fundraiser (# 9428)Performance Honda - Wesley Chapel will host a Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3 Day Bike Wash Fundraiser beginning at 9:00am. On October 31, 2008, thousands of women and men will unite in Tampa, and will walk 60 miles through the Tampa Bay area. Cancer 3-day is a weekend of hope, as we honor lives lost, celebrate survivors, promote breast cancer research and Breast Cancer awareness to those who so desperately need it. My team and I have committed ourselves to raise $2,200.00 per person to help fight breast cancer. 85% of the net monies collected through the 3-day walk go towards the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation, and 15% of monies will go to the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund, to provide endowment initiatives. This is a very personal battle for me and my family. I was very young when I lost my mom to Cancer. She was 32 years old, she left behind 4 small children and a loving husband. She fought for 4 years and subsided to this horrible disease on June 27, 1977. I told myself then that I would never have children because I was so afraid of this happening to me and I would leave behind children of my own. I had to finally get over my fear of this horrific disease because I realized it doesn't discriminate against anyone or anything it just attacks you! And that you can't live in fear of it but you must fight back! My husband and I have 3 wonderful children all grown up now and also have 4 beautiful grandchildren. My husband has also lost both of his parents to Cancer. I have lost a wonderful sister-in-law to Breast Cancer and several other family members and dear friends to Cancer. Unfortunately, Breast Cancer has become an all too common occurrence among women and men throughout the world. It is time to take action and help end it. I hope that my story will inspire you to become a partner in Hope with me and thousands of others. BECOME A HERO TO SOMEONE IN THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE Thank you for your supportwww.the3day.org/goto/christinelane |
